Do I really have to register if it is free?
You do not have to, and nobody gets turned away at the entrance. But registering is how we know how much candy, food, parking and how many glow bracelets to have ready, and it is how we reach you if the weather changes. It takes a minute and it genuinely helps.
Is this a Halloween party?
No. It is built around light rather than around Halloween. Same night, same candy, none of the walking down dark streets. The whole point is a bright, loud, safe place for families to be together on October 31, and a five minute moment where we say why.
Can my kids wear costumes?
Yes. Keep it family friendly, which means nothing gory, nothing frightening and no full face masks, so our team can see who is who. Neon and glow beat scary every time here.
How does the escape room work?
Escape the Darkness runs in timed slots for teams of roughly six to eight. You get fifteen minutes and four clues to bring the lights back up. Tick the box on the registration form and we will try to hold you a slot, though walk ups are welcome while space lasts.
I have toddlers. Is there anywhere calmer?
Little Lights is built for exactly that, nursery through age 5. Mini pumpkin patch, pumpkin painting, bubbles, glow sensory bins, face painting, a toddler inflatable and candy stations, all in a quieter corner away from the stage.
Do I have to attend UCFM to come?
Not at all. This is built for the neighborhood. Bring your family, bring your neighbors, bring the coworker who has never set foot in a church. That is the whole idea.
What does hosting a trunk actually involve?
You park in a spot we assign, decorate your trunk around a light theme, and hand out candy to the kids who come by. Judges walk Treat Street and hand out five awards. The Trunk or Treat page has the themes, the awards and what you need to bring.
Can my teenager volunteer?
Yes, and we would love the help. Students 13 and up can serve on most teams. Anyone younger serves alongside a parent. Choose your age group on the volunteer form and a lead will place you somewhere that fits.
Can my business or organization set up a booth?
Yes. The Glow Marketplace is open to small businesses, food vendors, crafters, nonprofits, colleges and community resource groups. Use the vendor page. The one requirement is that your booth lights up, and there is a Best Glow Booth award for the ones that do it best.
Will there be photos taken?
Yes. Our team photographs and films the event for ministry use, and the Glow Studio is there for exactly that. If you would rather not be in anything, find a team member in a GLOW UP shirt and let them know.
